Heat Shrink Bands are applied with a heat
gun. The easiest way is to stack the cans about 4 high with the
bands on them. Start blowing on the sides of the cans working up
and down while going around the entire stack. Finish them off
individually by a quick pass over the top. They key is to get the
side sealed where the bottom of the lid meets the side of the can.
Q? - Can I use a hair
dryer?
A! - Sort of. Hair dryers don't reach near the temperature
of a heat gun and they will go into a cool-down cycle after a while.
Because of the temperature difference between the two machines, a heat
gun will be significantly faster It's one of those things that
once you use a heat gun, you'll never go back. |

TinTape™
Stretch Sealing Tape

scissors!)
Our popcorn can customer love it!

Stretch similar to electrical tape or adhesive bandages. |
How many rolls do I need?
Remember
π (the
Greek symbol pi) from junior high math. Now you can see a
real-life usage of that math that haunted you. Take the diameter
of the can (rounded to the next inch) times π (remember π = 3.17)
divided by 1,296 (there are 1,296 inches on a roll). So, if you
needed tape for 504 2c cans (they are 7-3/16" diameter), it would be ((8
X 3.17) X 504) / 1,296 = 9.86 rolls. Like toilet paper, TinTape™
is something you don't want to run out of, so it's wise to get some
extra. If you see your math teacher, tell her thanks! |
